Y3W: T-W-O

TWO = this week's obsession
Y3W = your three words

So remember my obsession with baby products while I was pregnant? Now that baby is here I actually get to get all these cute little products! One of the very first things I gushed about were baby legs. Well, they were having a sale this past weekend and look whose got baby legs:

I feel compelled to do a a good review as I have learned from the best. However, this is NOT a sponsored post, I was in no way compensated for this, in fact I am pretty sure that Baby Legs do not know that I exist!

What I like:
Fast turnaround
I ordered them on 2/2 and had them on 2/4. They were washed and ready for super bowl Sunday although I had no idea it would be here so soon! The address on their website says they are located in Washington and I chose first class mail at check out. I do not like to pay a lot for shipping and on average whenever I order something I always order the slowest (read:cheapest) shipping option, which normally means I can expect a few days to a week to receive my product. The time stamp on my order confirmation email says 6:23 am. Seeing as how Washington is 3 hours behind my time zone- this may play a role in such a fast turn around. I was in no way shape or form up at 6:23 on 2/2 so I am assuming I must have had one of the first orders of the day.

Product quality
I must say these two little tubes of fabric are pretty good quality. I don't think my son is an ideal baby weight for his age and he's quite chunky as most babies are. I was leery about the way they would fit but lo and behold they fit quite well! They are a little long in length but I am assuming because it is one size fits all so taller babies can use them as well.

Cost
I almost never pay full price for anything- I try not too. So when I found out that they were doing a 50% off sale, I had to jump on it. I also ordered some socks because my little guys feet are huge plus he needed more socks anyway. Now the real test comes in if I would pay full price for these. My answer: probably not. It's not because I don't think it's worth it but because I just don't have to.

What I didn't like:
Product quality
I know this is a double edge sword. I kind of don't like the one size fits all. I felt like they were a little too long for his legs right now. They only have two sizing options: newborn and toddler, and my baby boy is too big for a newborn size. I guess in the end I will get a longer use out of them if he can grow into them- assuming they will last that long without fading, shrinking, or just becoming downright- used. Depending on how those factors play into them I can't complain too much.

Selection
Okay, the product selection isn't really bad. The 'i love mommy' and 'i love daddy' babylegs from my previous post weren't available- I am not sure if this is a seasonal thing and they are only available in May and June for Mother's and Father's day. If they were available I would have purchased both of those. I guess it worked out because he had the football ones for super bowl Sunday. I also think they need more of a gender neutral selection. The ones they classify as gender neutral I feel aren't really gender neutral... maybe it's just me.

Overall:

I love these baby legs and will likely get more if they have another sale. And this concludes my first officially unofficial baby product review.

Y3W: I miss you!

Another blog hop for me!

The past two weeks have been exhaustive yet amazing! I am enjoying learning how
to be a mommy and seeing my little guy grow.

There are so many things I wish to blog about like the 'end' of my pregnancy and
thoughts about it now that I am on the other side of through. I'd also like to
talk about my first few weeks as a mom- I have shed so many tears and he doesn't
even have a social security number yet!

Today is the first day of fall and I wanted to unveil my fall blog makeover but
that clearly is not going to happen as I haven't even emailed my "designer".
It's also the end of the 'All My Children' era. Yes, I know watching soap operas
is very uncharacteristic of a young 20-something but I began watching in support
when a kid I went to school with joined the cast. I have been hooked ever since
even after he left the cast.

My blog was started for a number of reasons including getting my thoughts out on
paper without being repetitive and I miss having this as an outlet. I get so
many text messages and phone calls inquiring about how we are doing and I always
respond with the proverbial "fine", "ok", or "pretty good" but I have so much
stuff to get off my chest including why it should be illegal to send first time
parents home with their two day old newborns...

I also desperately want to do the nursery reveal post but all the friggin'
furniture still isn't in yet. Hurricane Irene is still being used as the excuse
by the furniture place- although I kind of get the suspicion that some of the
furniture was destroyed rather than delayed delivery to the warehouse like they
claim.

So in the meantime while I sort out this new thing called parenthood I'll leave
you with my new siggy...

Y3W: packing while pregnant

In case you you forgot what the heck Y3W is here's a refresh. Okay now down to business.

This week we are traveling to my annual family reunion with a few other stops thrown in along the way. So, in order to make these stops we left early and drove. We initially planned this trek when I was not pregnant- and when we found out we were hopeful that the pregnancy wouldn't throw too much of a wrench in our plans. My doctor gave me the a-ok to make the trip (so you can stop freaking out) and by the way things have been going I knew I'd be alright. Our 14 hour drive will be taken over the course of two days (on the way there). So I of course had to pack accordingly. My husband restricted my luggage to one suitcase (that I had to share with him :/) and a carry on.

I realize it's really difficult to see how this is numbered but bare with me anyway-

1. Pillow/blanket/sweater: for as much comfort as possible. I have a tendency to be colder than others so my sweater was essential -along with my blanket- for warmth. AND who likes falling asleep without a pillow?! Not me and I'm like a baby- I fall asleep on car rides longer than 2 hours.

2. The most recent picture of our little one (from Monday's ultrasound).

3. Laptop: for on the go access to the interwebs.

4. My phone: I actually had to make several important calls on the go.

5. Lots of reading material. I feel like I don't get to do this as much as I'd like.

6. Hubby's candy- it's his favorite... notice one of the boxes are already open :/

7. Lots of water for hydration.

8. My mom's candy- she made us take it so she wouldn't eat it all before we left.

9. My snacks, candy, and mints.

So that should've gotten us off to a good start. Well that was before my hubby stood me in front of the pantry and nearly cleaned it out bringing extras for our entire out of town stay. Then he got the cooler and loaded it with ice, water, and a few other beverages for himself.

Then comes the hard part- sharing a suitcase with my husband. It actually worked out better than I thought it would basically because I wear a lot of lightweight dresses during the summer.

This is my pool gear. I still don't have the guts to show my bare belly in public even with no stretch marks so the first outfit must be accompanied by the cover up- which is not actually a cover up but will be used as one while at the pool.

These are my travel outfits. We are going to be on the road quite a bit so I need something super comfy. My bottoms (which you can't see very well) are maternity gauchos from old navy.

These are random outfits that need to be thrown together. So far I've been away for 3 days and I haven't felt like getting dressed, putting on make-up, or accessorizing ( i think due to my inability to remain comfy all night) so I haven't had much decision making to do besides pulling something out of  a suitcase. I secretly wish I was way more fashionable than I am now but then moments like this happen and all of that goes out the window. I have this vision of 'mommy glam' when my baby will be a few months old and we go out and I am super cute- but somehow I think that will go out the window as well with spit-up accidents, sleep deprivation, and a screaming infant. I'm trying to start my healthy hair journey this month because it's a well known fact that all the beautiful hair you get during pregnancy will likely shed a few weeks after birth so I am trying to counter act that by starting my HHJ now. But more on this later.

Lastly, this is my outfit for the denim and diamonds banquet on Sunday. Every year our banquet is always themed and I love dressing up with that theme. I am so proud that I found a maternity outfit at a reasonable price that fits this years theme.

So all of this accompanied with endless jams, jellies, and  other toiletries rounded out my packing list and much to my surprise- it all fit in with hubby's stuff! Oddly enough there is a trip I want to take in March and while we wouldn't be driving- I can only imagine what my 'packing with a 6 month old' post will be like!

Y3W: Yes! I won!

Y3W stands for your three words. The point of it is to sum up your week in three words. One of the mommy blogs I follow does a blog hop every Friday for Y3W. I normally join the blog hop but never really can sum up my week in 3 words.

Today I am hopping aboard the Y3W train, because Yes! I won! Jenni (mommy blogger) hosted a Butt Paste giveaway for her readers and yep, I am one of the lucky winners! I am so excited because a) free stuff is ALWAYS a good thing b) winning is fun and c) I hear this stuff is good. With a little one on the way I am sure I'll need plenty of butt paste so I am glad we will have this in our arsenal. I also have a coupon for the orignal butt paste so I am definitely starting to stock up. I'll be receiving thier newest product the maximum strength butt paste. You should definitely check them out to get more info! I can't do a product review until Septemeber but I definitely will when the time comes :) In the meantime you can go on over to Jenni's and join the blog hop (or at least see what all the hoopla is all about)!
