Weekend recap: Diggerland

Disclaimer: This happened in October 2014 and was written November 2014. So, don't get confused when you see Halloween references- Ha!

I was so excited about this trip. I've been waiting to take my son here since it's opening in June. I knew he would love it and it was supposed to be apart of his "birthday theme."

My son had no idea this place existed so I knew once we got there his mind would be blown away. And I was correct! It's just under a two hour drive (from my parents house) so he fell asleep during the car ride down. All he knew is that we were going on an adventure!

The things I don't want to forget

Our little babies don't stay little forever. Just the other day while hanging out with my son I thought "I wish I could bottle this moment and relive it whenever I want". I wasn't about to whip out my phone to take a picture or record our interactions because I wanted to really be present but also because we just weren't doing anything.

March recap: a week in NOLA

There was actually more to March than our big vacation. But the vacation is most note worthy.
We set out to New Orleans, Louisiana for a a week filled with (little did we know) sunshine. It was a welcome surprise considering the weather forecast was predicting rain the entire time, and the fact that it was still very much cold where we live.

A Mother's Day Announcement

I get so emotional on Mother's (and Father's) Day. I can't help but to think how lucky I am to have an amazing mom who is around to care for us, guide us, and put up with our antics.

Random thoughts from months gone by

Disclaimer: This was written in October 2014. That will explain some of the confusing references like December events and apple orchards.
Recently, a couple of things happened that made me feel kind of crappy. I hate that I can get so affected by other people's actions/decisions. I'm trying to look on the brighter side of things though and it helps.
An extended family member sold my Uncle's house. Now don't get me wrong- she had every right to do so and was the best decision for her family, I just wish she would've told us me before she did it. I'm also not saying that she has to reported her decisions to us but it would've been nice to have the opportunity to buy it and keep in in the family. I know this makes zero sense to anyone who is reading this but I loved that house and definitely would've like to have it. I keep telling myself that it wasn't meant for it to stay in the family but I really had high hopes and dreams of making that my vacation home. I think I sound kind of bratty but I don't have the time or energy for a full back story to help everyone understand.
Not too far from the house. We used to walk here often.
