So after we spent literally ALL DAY in magic kingdom we were spent. We all slept in so late that we didn't even bother with any theme parks the next day (much to my dismay). We needed some "recovery time". So we spent the day lounging by the pool... I always underestimate how much relaxation is needed in life.
And when I say we spent the day I really mean we spent the day! We started at breakfast. Although it technically wasn't breakfast time- it was merely our first meal of the day.
Pastries and fruit always taste better by the pool!
Then my parents decided to join us... they took their sweet time deciding when they were going to start their day. I'm assuming it was all the walking we did the day before.
Let me tell y'all. This picture right here- is history in the making. My mom hasn't worn a swimsuit since I was about 4 years old and I don't think my dad has worn one since his high school days at the "Y" (you know the YMCA). They are going to kill me once they see this "hot tube exclusive" on my blog but I HAD to let it be known! This is some serious stuff- I'm not exaggerating. And for the record they haven't worn them since (this was March 2013). I made them promise that if I ever own a home with a pool in the backyard they can't just "stick their feet in" 'cause I'll pay my kids to push 'em both in!
Then my little daredevil decided to throw caution to the wind and jump right in after his dad. Talk about a heart attack! We kept a real close eye on him form that point on! Not that we weren't watching him before but I'll admit I didn't think he was brave enough to believe he could just go on in the water.
At some point the cat dragged in my brother.... who...just....
I dunno guys. We shoulda dumped some pool water on him. Who wakes up just to go back to sleep at the pool?! It was actually quite hilarious once he woke up to realized we were taking award pics of him sleeping!!
The rest of that day was a blur. Trying to peel away a screaming toddler from a pool to take a nap, family dinners in our suite. As much as I was a little aggravated that we didn't go to a park that day- I enjoyed "Staying in" just as much. This turned out to be the pace of our week. One day we'd spend the entire day in a park and the next day was spent poolside. We opted to visited one of each of the hotel's pools on each of our off day's. They had quite a few- one of which included a nice play area for the kids. I'm not sure why but I don't have a good picture of the play area which was really, really nice. It had the rubber floors, water that was only a few inches deep, and splash pad's. If my memory serves me correctly I had to stand next to my son the whole time at his insistence) so i wasn't able to get any good shots.
Here's a fun family Disney vacation fact: we started our own hash-tag on Instagram. I know currently this isn't a big deal but I feel like a year ago not too many people were creating their "own hash-tags" so it was really cool at the time. I'm pretty sure we are going to be doing this from now on.
Girl, seeing your posts of Disney makes me want to go this summer!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a fabulous time!
