Birthday Week: Preserving the memories

I'll be the first to admit- this is not my original idea. This comes from a mama who is absolutely my best mama friend (in my head). She posted this to her IG feed one day and I just knew it was something that I wanted to do. I've had so much success with it I asked her permission to pass it along to you.

Anytime you host a party/celebration or encounter any major event you are likely to
receive a greeting card. And let's be honest, how don't you always feel compelled to get a card to go along with a gift or even send a word of sympathy.

Since my son is so young I decided to save all the cards I received for him or because of him. I know I have hoarding tendencies but I can't help it. I think it will be cool for him to look back and see how much he was loved and celebrated before he was able to form those memories on his own.

Materials Needed:

1 inch # ring binder
3 ring adjustable hole puncher
binder pockets (optional)
greeting cards

Instructions:

1. First you need to adjust the 3 ring hole puncher so that the punched holes will be the same width as the rings on the binder. To do this I take a regular sheet of paper and mark the width of the rings on the binder. Then I line up the paper with the hole puncher and adjust accordingly.

2. Once your hole puncher has been adjusted to the same proportions as your binder then you can start punching holes in the cards.

3. For cards with special shapes, use the  binder pockets to hold them.

And now you should have a nice keepsake binder containing those special occasion greeting cards!
