Day 5

Your favorite quote.

This will be hard for reasoning different from the usual "I can't think of one". This is hard because I have so many!

The first one that comes to mind is "Have you ever seen a U-Haul behind a hearse?? Let it go, you can't take it with you!" My mom taught me that all important lesson in materialism. I think some people happen to get caught up in having the biggest, newer, and best of everything that sometimes the more important things fall by the wayside. Sure we do a good job at Christmas time remembering those less fortunate, but what about other random times of the year? Every year my church holds an special offering during Sunday service called 'one great hour of sharing' and unfortunately every year there is a disaster that these funds are going to be donated to. Sure, we cannot control mother nature and her sometimes unfortunate wrath- but I think we as a society could sometimes think less about having the latest, greatest (read: iPad and iPad 2 being released less than a year apart) and just being content with what we have. I am guilty of this myself and by no means exempt from the world of 'must haves'.

I can't remember exactly where I found/saw this but I love it and it speaks for itself:
"Watch your thoughts, they become words. Watch your words, they become actions. Watch your actions, they become habits. Watch your habits, they become character. Watch your character, it becomes your destiny."

Lastly, just for kicks and giggles: "Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most!"

Happy Tuesday!

Day 4

Your Favorite Book

So, I'm not really much of a reader. If someone gives me a good recommendation and is very enthusiastic about it- I will check it out. This has worked for me since I left high school. In my younger days (lol!) I enjoyed book series such as The Babysitter's Club and the like but once I got to college mandatory reading outranked pleasure reading. After that I never really got back into it. So, I knew this was going to be sort of a hard one for me. I must admit I cheated and looked at my facebook profile (shameful I know). The result:

I'm not sure if you guys are really getting to know me but- Day 4 done.

Day 3

Your Favorite TV Show

As you can tell from my Monday posts, it's currently Dancing with the Stars. Although I think it is for the post part a popularity contest (and usually ends up pissing me off {read: Sabrina Bryan's untimely elimination on Season 5}), but I always come back for more. This year I am rooting for Wendy Williams. I am a long time fan of hers and I hope she does well but so far Kirstie Alley has been showing her up. I truly think it's going to come down to Chelsea Kane and Ralph Macchio or Kirstie Alley. My predictions are sometimes a little off because I thought Kyle Massey was going to win for sure last season.

Day 3 is done but tomorrow is going to be hard.

Day 2

Your Favorite Movie.

This is another hard one for me. Particularly because I don't like movies. I'm more of a sitcom (who watches sitcoms anymore??) person. It needs to get to the point in an hour or less. Movies just take to long. Needless to say my husband and I do not go on dates to the movies. I will indulge him every once in a while ( I must admit I enjoyed Iron man) but I'd rather have a movie night at home where I can press pause, go to the bathroom, refresh on snacks, and just take a break. So, I chose this movie because I think it did a good job at bringing music history to light- and it was kind of entertaining without being goofy. Now I suppose if I did this post a year or so from now, it would undoubtedly result in a cartoon CGI animated post but in my pre-baby life this is it:

Day 2, complete.

Day 1

Your favorite song.

I don't think I have a favorite song, so to speak. So, for help with this one I turned to my iPod's Top 25 Most Played list. And the winner is "Now/ At the Party by Maxwell".

I was truly surprised by this because I thought for sure it would have been something by Beyonce. I know you were expecting me to say the song we danced our first dance to at our wedding, but I can't pull out the wedding card just yet. I think the best part of the song is the instrumental begining. Call me old school but when you turn on the radio nowadays, there's a whole lot of screaming at you, seizure inducing music that you can't even make out the words to. Although I'm generally not a Maxwell fan, he does have a couple of songs on my iPod.

Day 1 done.
