Blighted.

That's what the doctor called my ovum.

Seriously though?

Of all the things I needed a blighted ovum was not it.

I can't even believe that I am addressing this issue again. Miscarriage.

I'm not even sure I have the words to write or the thoughts to express. It's all just a numbing feeling that won't go away, always in the back of my mind. Another due date come and gone. Another round of the "I'm so sorry"ies. I wish it would all just go away.

Are you kidding me people?! He's not a girl!

Honestly though, it must be a regional thing. Nearly 90% of people we run into who comment on my son's looks refer to him as a girl. This baffles me because a) I don't think he has the features of a girl nor b) do I think we dress him like a girl. 

Regardless of gender, I never intended to cut my child(ren)'s hair prior to their first birthday. Now that is a cultural thing. There are two different versions of an old wives tale that states you shouldn't cut your child's hair prior to either a) the first birthday or b) s/he being able to speak. Now "speaking" has never been clearly defined for me so I guess that could be anything from cooing to full on sentences. Whatever the case- I knew I would be waiting at least until the first birthday.

It's Friday Y'all! (and I got 5 on it)

TGIF!!!! You all may have had a short week due to the Columbus day holiday- but I didn't. I carried my butt to work. At least I do earn a vacation day for showing up when the rest of the world (or a good portion of it) was off.

1. Hubby and I celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary last week. Thanks for all the love on FB and IG. Earlier this year when I was thinking about the upcoming wedding anniversary it kind of threw me by surprise that we've been married for 5 years. 5 years seems like a long time in theory but in practice- it's not!

2. I am desperately trying to refrain from entering this contest.

How fitting is it that Becky chose this topic only day's after our 5th wedding anniversary?! So, I thought. Once again I'm a week behind but whatevs. I'm posting it anyway. Now about that meaning of marriage. I sure enough don't know all the answers but I've learned a lot in the past 5 years. Mind Right Monday: October

So yea, I haven't done this for 5 months... since April! And Dani has completely abandoned me too. But I'm back- at least for the 3 remaining months of 2013. Did I just say there were only 3 months of 2013 left?!

Goals for this month:

Pumpkin Patch fun

At the start of fall I knew I wanted us to take a trip to a pumpkin patch. I thought the idea of making pumpkin treats from fresh pumpkin sounded like a good idea and what's not to love about a pumpkin patch?!

Although I wanted to go- I thought for sure I would have planned this out more. You know- go to a touristy farm, have some cider, do... 'pumpkin'y things... if that makes sense. But instead we pulled off on the side of the road onto a pumpkin patch farm. Aaaaand....
